The Naturopathic Office Visit
A naturopathic physician will typically spend about an hour with you on your first office visit in order to get a comprehensive picture of your health, including a detailed history of the condition you are seeking care for, completing a physical exam and allowing time to discuss findings, recommendations and treatment.
Lab work or imaging you have from a previous doctor’s office is always welcome and helpful in determining has already been evaluated and providing an idea of what other things, if any, may need to be ordered or reviewed.
Once all the necessary information is obtained, your naturopathic physician will create an individualized treatment plan, which may include lifestyle, nutritional and/or botanical recommendations, designed to help you achieve your health goals. Following the principles of integrative medicine, they may also recommend pharmaceutical medications or refer you for evaluation by other providers, such as physical therapists, mental health providers and surgeons.
